Tavneet is Head of EMEA. Tavneet spent the majority of her career with Morgan Stanley in London and Hong Kong. Most recently, Tavneet worked with Pioneer Alternative Investments (Hong Kong) as a Senior Analyst in Fund of hedge funds business with responsibility for Asian Hedge Fund Managers. Tavneet received a BSc(Hons) in Economics from the London School of Economics.
Paul is Managing Partner. Prior to co-founding FIRSTavenue, Paul worked in the European capital markets principally at Credit Suisse First Boston in London. He has covered investors and run coverage groups across every region of Europe since 1987.
Nick is Head of Private Placements and has been raising private capital for funds and direct investments for ten years. Prior to FIRSTavenue, he held similar roles as an independent fundraising adviser and as head of research at Helix Associates. Nick has a post graduate degree in Finance from London Business School.
Jonathan is Chairman of and provides corporate governance to FIRSTavenue. He has operated in a number of senior roles across Credit Suisse and its predecessor organisations. Most recently, he served as Vice Chairman of Credit Suisse (formerly Credit Suisse First Boston) and Chairman of IG Group plc. Jonathan is a full time operating partner while also serving as Non-Executive Director for Persimmon and Hansa Trust.
Derek rejoined FIRSTavenue in early 2018, and holds the position of Partner and Head of Distribution, Americas. He was previously a Partner at FIRSTavenue from 2011 to 2014 before starting Bridge Haven, his own placement business. Previously, he was a Managing Director at Fortress Investment Group, as well as a Senior Vice President in the Private Fund Marketing Group at Lehman Brothers. Derek began his placement career at Deutsche Bank’s Alternative Investment Fundraising Group and received a BA from Yale University and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School.
Martin is Head of FIRSTavenue's business in Asia and responsible for distribution and origination in Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to joining FIRSTavenue, Martin was a Managing Director of Blackstone's Hedge Fund Solutions Group were he focused on business development and client relations in Australia and the Pacific Rim. Before joining Blackstone, he was Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Head of Distribution at ING Investment Management Australia, where he was responsible for the coordination of the firm's sales, marketing, and served as a member of ING's Private Equity Investment Committee. Martin has almost 20 years' experience in alternative assets having also worked at Barclays Global Investors and Deutsche Asset Management where he led institutional capital raising for private equity and was a member of the DB Capital Partners investment team. Martin received a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Commerce (Economics) from the University of Wollongong.
Clive is Head of Private Equity and primarily responsible for origination and marketing of private equity funds. Clive was formerly a Managing Director at Helix Associates and Co-Head of the Fund of Funds Group at Goldman Sachs covering Europe and Asia. Prior to Goldman Sachs Clive worked in the Private Equity Group at Merrill Lynch.
Mili Mills (Parekh)
Mili is a Partner at First Avenue and is responsible for distribution and origination in the UK, Ireland and Israel and leads global consultant coverage across all asset classes. Mili has more than 10 years’ experience in financial services, most recently with Kempen Capital Management where Mili was responsible for driving institutional fundraising in the newly formed London office. Prior to Kempen, Mili was responsible for capital raising at Foresight Group, an infrastructure and private equity manager. Mili started her career at PwC where she worked within Transaction Services and Assurance in London and Stockholm and gained her ACA qualification. Mili received a first class honours degree from Manchester Business School including a year spent at HEC Montreal.
Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operating Officer
Caroline holds the positions of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining FIRSTavenue, Caroline was a partner within the NewSmith Group and was responsible for financial control, tax and regulatory matters for both corporate and fund entities. Before joining NewSmith, Caroline spent 4 years working with Ernst & Young, London and 2 years with Ernst & Young, Jersey in their Investment Management Group. Caroline qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1999 with The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
